Valerie Murray named President of Beacon Trust Company, Chief Wealth Management Officer of Provident Bank
Valerie Murray, of Morristown, has been promoted to President of Beacon Trust Company and named Chief Wealth Management Officer of Provident Bank. In this position, Murray will be responsible for leading the growth of Beacon Trust and working to expand and enhance its wealth management services in response to the growing demand for sophisticated and reliable financial advice.
“I am very excited to have Valerie at the helm of Beacon Trust. Her impressive knowledge of the industry, extensive experience in wealth management and trust services, and her ability to turn strategy into results, will greatly enhance Beacon Trust’s ability to drive revenue for Provident Bank,” said Chris Martin, President and CEO, Provident Bank.
Prior to her new role, Murray – who has more than two decades of experience in the financial services industry – served as Beacon Trust’s Chief Operating Officer and was responsible for initiatives across the organization related to client services, technology, marketing, and operations. In addition, Murray worked closely with the President and management team to implement the strategic plan, which focused on increasing client assets, digital marketing, and expanding existing relationships through new services. Murray also oversaw initiatives to improve efficiency and enhance the overall wealth management offering for clients.
“We refer to our main services – investment management, trust and estate administration, financial planning, tax advisory and private banking – as our five core competencies. I look forward to enhancing our offerings to further engage existing clients and obtain new ones,” says Murray. “Additionally, I am excited to work with a talented team to develop creative solutions for these clients.”
Prior to joining Beacon Trust in 2011, Murray was Senior Vice President and Senior Trust Officer at U.S. Trust in New York, where she administered high net worth relationships and successfully transitioned clients through two mergers and acquisitions, including Charles Schwab’s acquisition of U.S. Trust in 2000 and Bank of America’s acquisition of U.S. Trust in 2007.
Murray received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Bucknell University and is a certified financial planner (CFP). She serves on the Board of Directors of Jersey Battered Women’s Services, Inc. (JBWS), and she is a member of Provident4Women, a social networking group organized in 2014 to share insights about various topics impacting women.
