The Provident Bank recently donated more than 75 journals to Haven House, a non-profit organization offering free mental health services to individuals in Lehigh Valley, for use during client therapeutic programs. This contribution was part of “Journal Drive,” a month-long donation program hosted by Haven House from June 1st through July 4th.
“Journaling can be a useful healing and therapeutic tool for any individual, but especially those suffering from mental illness,” said Lori Richardson, Director of Development, Haven House. “Thanks to these donations of journals from the employees at Provident Bank, our therapists can provide their clients with a free journal during a therapy session to begin the journaling process together. In addition, the notes of inspiration and quotes provided by the donors inside of the journals really convey to our clients a sense of caring from the people who donated the journals to help them in their healing process.”
Despite the various benefits of journaling, having to purchase a journal and physically begin the writing process can be overwhelming and challenging, especially for those with psychological disorders. In an effort to further ease anxiety, The Provident Bank employees added inspirational messages and quotes to each journal before distribution.
