The Provident Bank recently recognized three employees through their annual “Volunteer of the Year” award program. In its second year, the program acknowledges superlative volunteer efforts among the bank’s team. Winners were awarded a matching donation to the local charity of their choice, as well as a cash prize ranging from $100 to $250.

“The ‘Volunteer of the Year’ award program aims to honor and appreciate employees’ for their outstanding charitable efforts,” said Christine Cartwright, Corporate Donations Administrator, Provident Bank. “Just as the bank is dedicated to bettering the communities in which it serves, employees are encouraged to become active community members.”

Winners are listed below, along with their title and the charity of choice:

  • First place: Ed Reilly, Treasurer, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth & Middlesex County

  • Second place: Andrea Reid, Events & Community Relations Administrator, Road Trip Rescues

  • Third place: Amber Andrew, Banking Center Supervisor, Popcorn Park Zoo

An internal panel of six judges representing different sectors of the bank – including the executive leadership team, retail and back office administration – selected the winners based on anonymous submissions. Consideration was given to the number of events participated in as well as degree of involvement and level of commitment.
