Provident to Assist Customers Affected by U.S. Government Shutdown

ISELIN, NEW JERSEY (January 3, 2019): Building on its commitment to its customers, Provident Bank, a leading New Jersey-based financial institution, today announced a series of benefits to assist federal government employees affected by the U.S. government shutdown.  The Bank will offer eligible customers the following financial assistance during the shutdown:

 

  • Up to two refunds on mortgage and home equity loan late payment fees
  • Up to three refunds on checking account overdraft fees
  • Up to two refunds on credit card late payment fees
  • Minimum balance fee refunds on applicable checking and savings accounts
  • Penalty-free early withdrawals on certificates of deposit

 

“We understand that some of our customers who are employed by the federal government may be experiencing financial hardship during this time.  This is our way of lending a helping hand and demonstrating our commitment to our customers,” said Chris Martin, President and CEO.

 

Provident customers who are employed by the federal government and impacted by the U.S. government shutdown, may learn more by visiting their local branch or by calling the Bank’s Contact Center at 1-800-448-7768, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
