U-Shield by Provident Bank Delivers Personal Financial Flexibility, Security

Provident Bank recently  announced the launch of U-Shield by Provident Bank, offering a more personalized mobile banking experience that allows users to manage transactions, set spending and geographic limits, and more – all with a few simple  taps of your mobile device.

Provident Bank’s U-Shield app – available on iPhone® (minimum requirement is iOS 8.0 and newer) and AndroidTM (Minimum requirements for U-Shield is Android 4.4 [KitKat] and newer) – puts personally customized financial controls in the hands of account holders.

“U-Shield by Provident Bank provides consumers with personal financial flexibility – wherever, whenever, for whatever – while closing the security gaps that could cost you,” says Michael Raimonde, EVP, Retail Banking Director, Provident Bank. “We work to shut the window of opportunity, but in a way without compromising independence. We remain committed to our consumers, and strive to deliver resolutions that simplify their lives and power their dreams.”

Did you forget your card at the mall and remember when it was just a tad bit too late, say 10 p.m.? The “On/Off” button switches card on/off with a single touch; which eliminates fear of misplacing.

Are you going out of town for the weekend and aren’t sure where you left your card? All you know is that it isn’t in your wallet. Location controls ensure that a card works where you are and blocks where you are not. CardAlerts notifies of all transactions on the go.

Is your child away at college and you want to make sure the extra money you provided is being spent on books, not pizza? “Merchant Categories” allows you to set merchant categories, transaction types and spending limits according to behavior; offering protection against anyone else going on a shopping spree.

Want even more security? “Instant Transaction Alerts” provides real-time transaction alerts and offers.

U-Shield by Provident Bank users can also analyze spending and manage transactions – including the ability to tag, annotate, and capture transaction details.

As trends in mobile banking continue to rise, so does the risk “comprised” payment cards.

Provident Bank, which serves both New Jersey and Pennsylvania, is the first community bank to offer mobile card services that give consumers control of their payment cards in a central application.

“Provident Bank understands that everyone’s financial needs are unique. Whether you’re a parent looking to set spending limits for a child, or whether you’re just looking to keep tighter control of your account access, U-Shield by Provident Bank offers that,” said Michael Raimonde, EVP, Retail Banking Director, Provident Bank. “With U-Shield by Provident we have taken our commitment to account security and applied that to our customers’ mobile lifestyles. We’ve been able to add features that allow you to customize your account to your life.”
