The Provident Bank’s Joseph Covell Named 2015 New Leader in Banking by The New Jersey Banker’s Association

The Provident Bank’s Chief Audit Executive Joseph Covell has been named recipient of The New Jersey Bankers Association’s 2015 New Leaders in Banking Award. Recognition of this award will take place at the annual BankHorizons Conference on Tuesday, Dec. 1 at the Tropicana Casino & Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

“Joe’s hard work and dedication are evident in his academic and professional pursuits,” said Chris Martin, President and CEO, Provident Bank. “He serves as an outstanding mentor and role model to his staff, encouraging them to be active and engaged, and to practice excellence. He is a great resource for the bank and the entire team values his leadership.”

In his role, Covell helps oversee the bank’s risk management program, while also serving as the direct liaison with the regulatory examination teams who inspect the bank. He is a licensed certified public accountant, and he is enrolled as a Juris Doctor candidate at New York Law School. Covell is a graduate of Fordham University, with a B.S. in Business Management.
